Marguerite Kusuhara has an MA in Visual Anthropology. She has lived in both China and Mongolia. Marguerite is known for her use of spinning in her performances. She got her inspiration for spinning from the Mevlevi, Native American groups, Tibetan Tsam dancers, Dervishes, Aztec dancers, and Nepalese cray Lamas and others.  She likes the meditative aspect of twirling as well as how it connects her to both the audience and the unseen aspects of the universe. Marguerite is also know for her excellent sword work with both single and double swords. She is also famous for dancing on a ladder of swords.  See a performance video of her dance on a sword ladder.
