Sandra is a belly dancer whose involvement in the world of belly dance extends across the globe, encompassing performances, teaching, competitions, DVDs, music videos, modeling, and community outreach initiatives. With an international presence, Sandra is a sought-after entertainer in Arabic nightclubs throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as a traveler who graces stages worldwide. Her innate musicality, deep comprehension of Arabic movement and culture, and a charming sensuality make her a highly coveted artist.

Sandra has taken her dance to audiences spanning four continents. Presently, she holds the position of house dancer at the esteemed Chatanoga Persian Club in Santa Clara, a revered Middle Eastern Supper Club with a rich history among San Francisco’s Persian Community.

Beyond her local contributions, she travels worldwide, imparting advanced Middle Eastern dance techniques to eager students. Famed for her articulate and approachable teaching style, Sandra’s wide-ranging dance experience and extensive work in authentic Arabic and Persian nightclubs lend her students a professional finesse blended with traditional authenticity.

Sandra’s journey in belly dance commenced under the guidance of Nanna Candelaria while she was a UC Berkeley student. This learning continued during her graduate studies at Stanford, during which she performed and studied under Nanna’s mentorship. Sandra’s understanding of Arabic belly dance is enriched by her exploration of ethnic dance forms from various cultures, including Flamenco, Classical Indian, and Classical Persian dance. She dedicated six years to the study of classical Indian Bharata Natyam, culminating with the esteemed Vishwa Shanti school of Indian dance led by Shreelata Suresh. Sandra also honed her skills in classical Persian dance under the tutelage of Lorna Zilba, performing with her LifeDance Theater company. Additionally, she delved into Classical Persian and Central Asian dance through her association with Ballet Afsaneh.

Sandra’s diverse and enriched dance background, combined with her boundless passion, has solidified her status as a dynamic and influential figure within the realm of belly dance.
